Golden Dreams

Golden Dreams

Golden Dreams was a challenging piece to finish. My brain was overcrowded with thoughts, and I was unsure how to be mindful and present. I started by laying out my base color and textures as usual, but midway through I hit a wall. I have experienced this with writing plenty of times, but I was unsure how to conquer the feeling with art. So, I took a break, meditated, and did some journaling. I gave my focus to other works, and came back to it with fresh eyes.

When working on a piece I pick color based on instinct and apply each with a variety of techniques. All of the pieces have bumps, grooves, swirls, dots, and drips.
